Monthly Mixtape #5 | mellifluous

A cassette tape with the words 'monthly mixtape' in a brush script above and below.

Monthly Mixtape is a music feature created by Eve @ Twist in the Taile and Evi @ Adventuring Through Pages (that’s me!). Here’s how it works: each month, we give you a one-word prompt, and you make a playlist. We welcome you to interpret the prompt however you want and with whatever music you’re into.

Please link back to the original Monthly Mixtape prompt whenever you make a playlist. We welcome you to use the title image for your blog post if you wish. You can create a playlist in response to any of the prompts going forward, not just the current months, but you won’t be able to add your link once the new prompt is up. You can link to your playlist here. The next Monthly Mixtape will be up in the first week of May. 🙂 This month’s prompt is…

#5: mellifluous

mellifluous, adjective: 1 : having a smooth rich flow; a mellifluous voice
2 : filled with something (such as honey) that sweetens mellifluous confections

I originally wanted to go with a soft, sweet playlist for this prompt; I loved the bit about honey in the definition. And then, somehow, I ended up making it a bit more dark?! WHO KNOWS. Here’s some rich, melancholy songs on this Saturday evening.

  1. OOH this seems like a very good playlist, I’m so excited to listen to it! Thanks so much again, alas exams have been very much freaking me out so I haven’t done much blogging. If you like I made up a linky thing here://www.blenza.com/linkies/links.php?owner=appletaile&postid=07May2018 (though I’m not sure many people use it haha)
