So, I’m sure many of you heard of my high hopes for my NaNo novel, Winged prior to November and now in November. My original word count goal was 35,000 words.
We have 2 days left of November and so far, I’ve only written 2,698 words. Last week, in desperation, I changed my word count goal to 10,000 words, as did my friend who is also doing NaNoWriMo. I’m hoping- hoping- I can finish, now, so I’ll be writing like a crazed person today and tomorrow.
But if I don’t win, it’s not the end of the world. Sure, I’ll be disappointed, but I shan’t cry or scream or something. I might just be grumpy for a bit. Winged might be the shortest novel I’ve ever written (well, it’s the only novel I’ve ever written [and hopefully finished!]), but that’s okay, because I think it’s going to end up being middle grade fantasy anyway. So I’m off! To write 3,772 words today and another 3,772 tomorrow and then again on Sunday to finish!
